Special Events

Although the weather for the Picnic in the Park was a little disappointing 14 units arrived on site. We all had a great time, with the Brass bands playing and entertaining us all in the Welfare club on Saturday from 2pm - 4pm. Then a couple barbecued Hot Dogs & Burgers with a selection of bacon, cheese & onions  to add on. There was also salad. These were really good. From 6.30pm we all made our way to the Community Hall to be entertained again by the Brass Bands. We also had a young man, Mathew, sing for us again, as he had at our Easter Meet. Mathew went for his audition as Oliver in a theatre production on Sunday morning. There were 40 applicants, but, as we all thought, Mathew was selected. So great pride is felt by his family. Trevor had organised a Treasure Hunt around the village for us. Saturday evening the winner was announced. Mel, what a lovely surprised look on her face. There was a raffle Saturday evening the winner was announced. and then Disco music. Sunday morning the sun was shining for all to pack up, followed by our coffee morning. A lovely surprise from the Bands men as they played for us while we were enjoying our coffee

Will and I would like to thank the Bands, Trevor & all campers for their support
