DUCK RACE 2010
WERE YOU THERE ?
We opened on Friday at noon & soon had people arriving on a beautiful sunny day & by late evening we had 30 units. On Saturday we had paddling pools out to all the children’s delight, splashing about with a lot of water pistols being used! Then as there wasn’t much water in the river, after moving a few stones to make a way down river we had a shortened Duck Race. As the Duck Race is mainly for the kids we decided to have two winners one for the kids and one for the older children and giving all the kids taking part in all the games a little medal. In the evening most of us went into the gazebo for bingo and the raffle draw, with some staying on until dark enjoying a drink and catching up with all the gossip etc. Sunday we had our coffee morning with a lot more chat, and Glyn updating us on what is going on over the next few weeks. Then most people slowly packed up and went on their own sweet way. Only a few units stayed for the full duration of the meet even though it was wonderful weather all the way through. It was nice to see Pete and Pat out with their new caravan after losing their other one to fire at Llangollen. It was inspected by many who decided it is a beautiful van.
